Give me a chance, and of course I'll put a dog in it!!

I just found out about Ida Pearle, a New york City artist from the designer I am working with. Her work is absolutely stunning. You MUST go look. NOW. Go HERE. Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous.

You gotta love a design job that allows you to illustrate when you want to. I made this in illustrator today for a poster design for a children's festival. It is what my Sophie looked like at about 2. A lil' chunk o' love.

I just had to make a bio sheet for an art show and took a new pic with my pups. Aren't they the sweetest things ever??? Even if Rufus (the black one) did eat my boot last week because he got mad at me for making him stay in my bedroom when we had company over. Not just chewed it...noooooo....the whole boot folks. As in just the sole was left. And I walked in to find him laying on the bed about to begin the second one while Lucy looked on in horror as if to say, "Oooooh...you are gonna GET it Rufus!!" And he did. But I still love him. Just look at them...how can I not?!

Ah the 9-5 working world. I have never been more grateful for it! I am working onsite all this week (and the end of last week) And just as I suspected, work has been picking up at a rapid pace. A poster, a logo design, a menu design, two paintings, and a website. Ahhhh…. I am a girl that thrives on multi-tasking. Plus I am going to hang a show that will be up the month of February at a local Starbucks tonight. Last year I had a show the same month and it was fantastic. It brought in quite a bit of commissions and gave me the official title of the “Starbuck’s Dog Lady!” As in, “Oh, YOU’RE the Starbuck’s Dog Lady! I’ve seen your art!”

I am so glad that the tide is turning. January was brutal. But I have probably done enough marketing and contacting people that I am good to go for 6 months! I am sooo happy a new month is here! Yay February!
