Dogs, kids, and art; does it get any better?

Yesterday, Rufus, Lucy and I visited the Children's Hospital of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. I have done this for three years now and I love it every time! The kids there are sick, usually very sick. It can be heartbreaking, but it is so hopeful and the kids are nothing but smiles. That is the thing I love about children, even when they get that something is serious, they still choose to have a positive attitude. They don't dwell ont he what if's and the future. They live in the moment. They get that it is about right now. I would say something like, I am glad that for a short time I could bring joy into their life, but it is completely the other way around. For an hour they put joy into my life and made me grateful that I got to spend time with them. The little boy in the Sponge Bob jammies? I wish I could have bottled up his laughter and kept it in a jar to listen to whenever I was down. It was impossible not to smile from ear to ear when this kid giggled. The fact that he loved my art was the very best part! What a compliment to have that grin from something I created.

Check back tomorrow, I have some great news I want to share, but don't want to take away the recognition of these amazing kids from yesteday.
